Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.
You have a calling on your life and you were elected to follow that calling and live in it.
In that calling you won't be by yourself anymore, for God will be with you and already prepared all your ways, so you can walk in them without ever falling.
He even gave you His most great and precious promises, so that you can become partaker of His godly nature.
That means, that you can receive all promises, live in authority, here on this earth, and act just like God would act, if He was here in a physical body! (2. Peter 1,3-4)
So what is Gods nature and how should I walk in my calling?
Faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self- control, and self- control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. (verse 5-7)
It sounds like a whole bunch of things, but I ensure you, that you can live by them! All those things are important for your calling and no matter in what area God wants to use you, only with those, will you bear good fruits and have success.
But if you now think, that you might as well give up already, because you don't have all those qualities, then look at verse 8.
None of us have all those qualities to perfection, but it is about knowing what is important and starting to live by those things.
If you do that and keep those qualities before your eyes constantly and prove, in what area you can still increase in, then you will already have success now and bear good fruits in all you do already!
No matter how far you are or where you are right now, your decision is what matters!
Be more diligent to follow your God given calling and election, because if you function in your calling and follow Gods leading, you will never fall!
You were given the most great and precious promises, so that you can finally live in the nature of God and act like He would act, if He was here in the flesh.
Don’t wait another second to follow your calling. Step out now and be partaker of the most great and precious promises of God! (2. Peter 1,3-11)
