For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit,
and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh.
God didn’t tell you to crucify your flesh to bring you suffering and harm. He wants you to crucify it (take it’s authority), so that your spirit can live free!
Whether you knew it or not, EVERYTHING that you desire in your heart is in the spirit. That's why God wants you to take your flesh’s authority, so you can finally receive everything you have been waiting on.
You can’t live after the spirit and the flesh at the same time and especially where most people (and sadly also many Christians) still live after the flesh, and therefore also in strife, envy, division,… in their lives, make sure that YOU are not one of them and keep your flesh in bondage, no matter how hard it screams, so your spirit can live freely! (Galatians 5,19-20)
You either live by your flesh and your spirit will be in chains, or you keep your flesh in chains and your spirit lives free.
It won’t always be easy to keep your flesh in chains, but when you actually realized what the fruits of the spirit are, you will want to give your spirit full authority.
Because the fruits are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Do you want to see those things in your life? Be loved, have joy, live in peace, receive Gods favour, have a faithful partner,…? If you do, then finally let your spirit live free by following Gods word and doing it, no matter what your flesh says and wants to do instead.
It won’t always be easy, but it will be MORE than worth it!
Everything you could ever need or want is in the spirit, not in the flesh, and you decide whichever one you let live free and which one you keep bound up.
Most people sadly follow their flesh though and are not spirit-lead, which brings them into destruction, strife, lack, depression and every other bad thing. But if you choose to live by your spirit, by keeping your flesh under control, then that spirit will guide you into freedom! Freedom from all evil and being one with God instead. That’s where true joy is and where you are free from all fleshy (worldly) influences! (Galatians 5,16-25 & 2. Corinthians 3,17)
