Short-lived vs. Consistent Change

27 Jun 2018

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Hebrews 13,8

We all know what it’s like to start a diet over a certain period of time, to reach a certain goal. Yet the problem with it is that most people turn back to their old eating habits and therefore physiques, as soon as the diet is over.
The reason for this is that an inconsistent change cannot bring consistent results, and just like it’s obviously the truth concerning your diet, it is the same way with God.

Jesus had so much success, because He was a man that was consistent in all He did!
He was the same every day, yesterday and today and forever, and lived by the same principles and under the same guidance every single day. That is how He lived His whole life and THAT’S WHY He was so successful in EVERYTHING He did.

Now I’m sure that you haven’t reached the level of perfection that Jesus lived in. That’s why it’s time to not simply make short lived changes in your “diet” and undertake consistent changes instead, which you will live in for the rest of your life.

You will only be able to reach the perfection of Christ through those kinds of consistent changes in your lifestyle.

So before you plan to quickly read through the bible to put it away again after, plan to read some everyday, just enough so you can keep it up the REST of your life.
Or before you start some other diet again to become thicker or thinner, just to return back to the old diet, make small but permanent changes in your lifestyle, which you can keep the REST of your life.

It might be harder decisions und it will take more discipline, yet consistent changes are the way to success. Not random and short lived ones!

To see a consistent change in your life, it is not enough to just change your diet for a few days or weeks. To have consistent change you need a consistent change - a lifestyle change!
It is the same way with walking in the things of God and experience His goodness and blessing consistently, not just over periods of a few days. To walk in consistent blessing and to be constantly one with God, it is not enough to go on a bible study plan for a week, just to drop it right after you are done.
Make a change to your lifestyle that you can keep up for the rest of your life and then you will live the better life, for the rest of your life! (Hebrews 13,8)
